Sima joined Lens at the start of the season after ending his stay at Brighton. He headed home in stoppage time to lift Lens above Auxerre in a 2-1 win. Sima entered the field with ten minutes remaining as he replaced French veteran Florian Thauvin.
Sima told Ligue 1 + that he is happy to get the winning goal. “It was a tough match for us. We knew it wasn’t easy to come here and win. We had to work hard. The guys did the job, and it was up to us (the finishers) to help them too. I am happy to have scored the winning goal. We came here to win. We knew they had this weakness at the near post, we saw it on video. I am happy it fell to me.”
Sima managed to score on his second game of the season. Previously he has only played for 45 minutes in a 2-0 loss to Paris Saint Germain.
