Mjällby AIF are the surprise leaders through ten rounds in Sweden's top flight Allsvenskan and Gambian starlet Abdoulie Manneh is a major reason why. The 20-year-old provided the only goal in Mjällby's latest triumph, a 1-0 home victory over Brommapojkarna on Monday.

Manneh put the sparkling finish on an excellent team move. High pressing on the Brommapojkarna defense led to a turnover and Mjällby pounced. Nicklas Røjkjær found Manneh open at the edge of the penalty area and the young attacker powered in a low shot to give Mjällby a first half lead.

Mjällby were forced to defend for large stretches in the second half but the hosts held on to make it seven victories in their last eight matches. The club from a small village on the Swedish southern coast continue to challenge the traditional power clubs in the country and now hold a one-point lead over Elfsborg and AIK.

Manneh is improving his final product in the attacking end. After showing plenty of dribbling ability and potential in his first season, the Gambian now has 6 goals and 3 assists in 10 league games after only accumulating 2 goals and an assist in 21 matches last season. Manneh and Mjällby will next face Hammarby away from home on Thursday.
