Abdul Fatawu was on song, scoring a stunning left footed strike as Leicester City sank Charlton Athletic in the EFL Championship at The Valley on Saturday.
The former Dreams FC forward latched on to a pass, sprinted from the right side of the field before weaving past his marker to smash home the solitary goal and the eventual winner with 48 minutes played.
The much needed victory ended the Foxes’ run of nine winless away matches and provided a timely response from a 2-1 defeat against Preston North End in their previous fixture.
Leicester City have now claimed two wins in three opening matches in the English second tier, occupying the seventh spot. Fatawu’s compatriot and Black Stars captain Jordan Ayew completed the full 90 minutes for Leicester. They will next face Birmingham City at home next Friday.
