Sierra Leone defender Abdulai Juma Bah has penned a one-season loan deal with French Ligue 1 side OGC Nice.
“After Gabin Bernardeau, Nice have their second signing at the start of this transfer window. A 1.95m defensive recruit, well known to L1 fans, having played in France for the last six months,” reads a statement on Nice's official website, about the player signed from Manchester City.
Nice Sporting Director Florian Maurice explained the decision to sign Bah: “We've been following his progress for some time, and we found him to be a very good performer during his time at Lens. The numbers show this. Juma is a young player with great potential and, importantly, we think he can quickly adapt to the coach's ideas.
“He will strengthen an area where we had two major injuries at the end of last season. There's an alignment between our project and his ambitions. Juma joins the group at the start of pre-season, which is ideal for quickly integrating and performing well.”
Speaking after penning the deal, Bah said: “There's quality and experience in every position. The coach has very precise, attacking ideas, which all the players stick to, including the defenders.
“That was a major factor in my choice. I'm proud to be joining this club and this project. There are some big dates coming up very early in the summer. It's going to be an exciting season. It's up to me and us to be ready!”
A Sierra Leone international with two caps, Bah first arrived in Europe by bursting into the Spanish top flight in the first half of last season with Valladolid. He joined Manchester City in the winter of 2025, before being loaned out to Lens.
