Burkina Faso defender Adamo Nagalo arrives in Türkiye to begin loan

Burkina Faso national team central defender Adamo Nagalo has completed the final stages of registration to begin his loan at Turkish Süper Lig club Konyaspor from Dutch giants PSV Eindhoven.

The Turkish Football Federation announced that the 23-year-old has officially been registered as a player at his new club and Nagalo will be available for selection on Saturday when his new club travels to face Besiktas. Konyaspor later confirmed the loan on Friday via their social media accounts.

Born in the Ivory Coast, Nagalo developed at famous Ghana-based academy Right to Dream and graduated to the professional ranks after moving to Denmark to join affiliated Superliga club FC Nordsjælland. He made well over 100 appearances before earning a €7 million transfer to PSV at the beginning of the 2024-25 season.

However, his playing time was very limited in his first season (12 appearances) and he continued to be rooted to the bench during the first half of the ongoing campaign. Nagalo failed to make a single first team appearance before his latest move.

His difficult time with PSV extended to his fortunes with the Burkina Faso national team. Only making two appearances at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations with the Stallions, Nagalo endured a disastrous performance against the country of his birth as the Burkinabé selection crashed out to Ivory Coast in the Round of 16.

He was yanked before halftime by coach Brama Traoré soon after the Ivorians took a two-goal lead in the eventual 0-3 defeat.

Konyaspor are four points outside of the relegation zone in 13th place on the Süper Lig table.
