Lookman broke the deadlock in the 33rd minute, slotting home from close range after a clinical backheel assist from Giuliano Simeone.
Speaking after the game, Simeone stated that the Nigerian international is improving every day. He expressed hope that Lookman will continue to provide the team with vital moments.
“Ademola Lookman is improving, working very well, giving us different things. We’re helping him grow defensively because he has that work ethic. He’s a player with a big heart and a desire to learn. Hopefully he keeps giving us important things like today.”
The goal marked the Lookman’s second league strike of the campaign. He has now recorded five goals and three assists in 14 appearances across all competitions for the club this season.
