Algerian star Adil Boulbina delivered a sensational performance to inspire Al Duhail’s emphatic 8-1 victory over Al Arabi in Round 5 of the Qatar Stars League. The 22-year-old forward scored twice and provided two assists, directly contributing to half of his team’s goals in one of the most dominant displays of the season.
Al Duhail struck early, taking the lead inside two minutes through Krzysztof Piatek’s header. Although Piatek missed a penalty shortly after, the home side quickly regained control. Pablo Sarabia briefly equalized for Al Arabi in the 23rd minute, but an own goal from Hashimi El Houssin restored Duhail’s lead. From there, Luis Castro’s men never looked back.
Sultan Al Breik powered in a strike to make it 3-1, before Adil Boulbina provided a cross for Alberto, who converted to stretch the lead before halftime.
The Algerian then showcased his individual brilliance five minutes into the second half, racing onto a long ball from Marco Verratti and lifting a delightful finish over the goalkeeper to make it 5-1. Alberto struck again on the hour mark, and in the 68th minute, Boulbina converted a penalty for his second of the night and Al Duhail’s seventh. Benjamin Bourigeaud completed the rout from the spot in the 78th minute.
Adil Boulbina’s impact was undeniable: two goals, two assists, and a commanding attacking presence that left Al Arabi’s defense in tatters. His performance comes just days after scoring against Al Hilal in the AFC Champions League Elite opener, further underlining his influence on Al Duhail’s attack.
With back-to-back league wins, Al Duhail climb to 7 points, while Al Arabi remain on 4 points. For Boulbina, this was not just a game — it was a statement that the young Algerian is emerging as one of the most exciting talents in the Qatari league.
