Newly signed from Algerian club Paradou AC for a €3.3 million fee, Boulbina showed why he is one of the most discussed young Algerian players with a class finish in Duhail’s 3-2 victory over Iranian giants Sepahan. The 22-year-old took down a long ball from Brazilian defender Tuta and finished off the crossbar to make it 2-1 as Duhail advanced to the group stage of Asia’s premier club competition.
Another high priced signing, Polish striker Krzysztof Piątek, scored the third to give Duhail a 3-1 halftime lead. After two consecutive seasons as runners-up to Al Sadd, Duhail have made a big push in the transfer market with the objective of winning their first domestic league title since the 2022-23 Qatar Stars League season.
Boulbina made his big arrival last season with Paradou, leading Algeria’s Ligue 1 Professionnelle with twenty goals. He also scored two goals during the second leg of Algeria’s 3-0 aggregate victory over The Gambia to qualify Les Verts for the ongoing 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN) tournament in East Africa before Boulbina became ineligible to play at the finals due to his transfer abroad.
Al Duhail begin their Qatar Stars League campaign on Saturday at home against Al Shahaniya.
