Ivory Coast national team player Emmanuel Agbadou has stated that the Elephants are focused ahead of their final group game against Gabon at the 2025 CAF Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
The England-based centre-back has yet to make an appearance at AFCON, but he remains motivated. Agbadou suggested the reigning African champions will take the Gabon test seriously.
“With the same seriousness with which we have approached the previous matches, we will try to finish at the top of the group we are in. That is our goal, and we’ll try to achieve it without fail.”
Ivory Coast are currently second in Group F, level on four points with Cameroon. Progression to the next round is secured, but they will need to dig deep to top the group as they battle with Cameroon and Sudan.
Ivory Coast coach Emerse Faé has so far stuck with the defensive partnership of Odilon Kossounou and Evan Ndicka. The 28-year-old Wolves defender will be hoping to get minutes when they face Gabon later tonight at the Stade de Marrakech.
