AFCON: Burkina Faso to approach Sudan with ‘all our resources’ – Brama Traoré

Burkina Faso coach Brama Traoré has admitted they are wary of Sudan as the two sides prepare to face off in their Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) fixture against Burkina Faso on Wednesday.

The Stallions versus Sudan will be played at the Mohammed V Stadium in Casablanca, in what will be a blockbuster clash for the second spot in Group E of the AFCON.

Speaking ahead of the game, Traoré explained why they have to take the game with a lot of cautious and seriousness.

‘Sudan one of the strong African teams’

“Every team here has made progress, and no one can say Sudan are not a good side. They have a well-known coach who played a major role in their qualification, so we consider Sudan one of the strong African teams,” he told the media as quoted by CAFOnline.com.

“We will approach this match with all our resources and introduce new faces as we look for victory.

“We are progressing step by step and our plan is clear. We will play intelligently and adapt our approach to the opponent. Our supporters are everywhere, and our people are waiting for us to make them proud.

“That is what we will strive to do.”

On his part, Ibrahim Kaboré said: “We are fully focused on our match against Sudan and we know how important it is ahead of the next round. The choices are always the coach’s, and I respect them.

“I am always ready to give my best for my country, whether I start or come off the bench. For me, the most important thing is the collective effort.”

This will be the first AFCON encounter between the two nations since 2012.
