AFCON: Chemsdine Talbi raves about Morocco’s semifinal qualification

Morocco winger Chemsdine Talbi has given his verdict on their qualification to the semifinals of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations on home soil.

The Atlas Lions produced a blistering performance against Cameroon, beating the five time African champions 2-0 in the quarter finals on Friday.

A goal each by Brahim Diaz and Ismail Saibari in the 26th and the 74th minutes respectively at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium ensured that, Morocco will face the winner between Algeria and Morocco who clash on Saturday in the other quarter final game.

Morocco are gunning for their second AFCON title

The 20-year-old who has played just a match for the 2022 FIFA World semifinalists at the AFCON,shared a moment with the media at the mixed zone.

“I think today was a big match [and] I think we showed what Morocco has but I think it is not the end, we have two games to go and we will give everything for the next game and the for the finals,” Chemsdine Talbi said.

Chemsdine Talbi gave a positive vibes about Real Madrid forward Brahim Diaz who has scored in all the games up to the knockout phase.

“He is really a nice player, we enjoy seeing him play and we are really happy he is with us.”

Morocco are gunning for their second Africa Cup of Nations title after last lifting the trophy in 1976. Their best ever result since winning that first cup was a third place finish in the 2004 edition hosted and won by Tunisia.
