With Bafana Bafana setting their sights on an improved performance at the upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco, Kaizer Chiefs director for marketing and commercial, Jessica Motaung, has issued a strong appeal for unified national support.
Following the team’s Bronze medal finish at the previous AFCON tournament, expectations remain high for the national side.
Motaung stressed the importance of public backing during comments made to the media during the FIFA Twinning Programme event held at the Johannesburg Central Prison -Sun City on Wednesday.
“Very excited for Bafana Bafana going to AFCON. I wish them all the best. We’ll be there cheering them on. We know they’ll do us proud,” Motaung affirmed. “And again, let’s rally behind them as a nation and support them through this journey.”
Bafana Bafana is scheduled to open their campaign on December 22nd against COSAFA rivals Angola, followed by fixtures against Egypt and neighbouring Zimbabwe in the group stages.
The national team is set to depart for Morocco on Wednesday, December 17th, immediately following their final international friendly game against Ghana, scheduled for Tuesday, December 16th, in Gauteng.
