AFCON: More Nigeria players arrive in Egypt camp

The camp of the Nigeria senior men’s national team, the Super Eagles, grew in number as Chidozie Awaziem and Salim Fago Lawal arrived in Cairo ahead of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco.

Awaziem and Lawal arrived at the team’s Renaissance Hotel base on Tuesday morning as Eric Chelle’s side, who are currently preparing for the competition, gear up for a friendly match against the Pharaohs of Egypt.

The three-time African champions set up camp in Cairo on Sunday and held their first training session at the Cairo International Stadium on Monday night.

They will take on the Pharaohs of Egypt in a pre-AFCON friendly match at the Cairo International Stadium on Tuesday.
