The Africa Cup of Nations 2025 has now reached its decisive stage, with the Round of 16 action continuing today as the battle for continental glory continues.
The group stage of AFCON 2025, hosted by Morocco, has concluded, with 16 teams qualifying out of 24 to advance to the knockout phase.
The teams that secured qualification are:
Group A: Morocco, Mali
Group B: Egypt, South Africa
Group C: Nigeria, Tunisia, Tanzania
Group D: Senegal, DR Congo, Benin
Group E: Algeria, Burkina Faso, Sudan
Group F: Ivory Coast, Cameroon, Mozambique
The Round of 16 kicked off with two encounters. Mali eliminated Tunisia, while Senegal defeated Sudan on the opening day. On the second day, Morocco overcame Tanzania, and Cameroon booked their place at the expense of South Africa.
Today, the knockout action continues as the margin for error gets narrower— win and advance, lose and exit the African carnival.
