Africans abroad: Moses Simon scores as Paris FC clock first three points of the season

A number of African players came to the party once again for their various clubs in the French Ligue 1 on Sunday affirming the quality in the continent’s array of talent abroad.

Le Havre collected their first three points of the season following a 3-1 home win over OG Nice with Mali defender Fode Doucoure opening the floodgates in the 13th minute.

OG Nice pulled level from the effort of uncapped 21-year-old Ghana defender, Kojo Peprah Oppong on the 53rd minute however, France born Senegal midfielder, Rassoul Ndiaye shot Le Havre ahead one more time in the 61st minute.

Ndiaye’s compatriot and former junior international, Issa Soumare made the score line 3-1 with a late goal to lift Le Havre into 11th on the log on three points after three league games this campaign.

Newly promoted side, Paris FC equally clocked their first win of the campaign with a hard fought 3-2 home win over a ten-man Metz with uncapped Algeria midfielder Ilan Kebbal grabbing a brace and Nigeria winger Moses Simon scoring once.

Senegal youth international, Sadibou Sane and Mali midfielder Boubacar Traore scored each but those were not enough to rescue any point for Metz.
