Africans Europe: Naeem Mohammed, Agnero on target in Halmstads big win

Ghana forward Naeem Mohammed grabbed a brace with Ivorian youth international, Yannick Agnero registering a goal as Halmstads BK nailed Vaernamo 4-2 in the Swedish Allsvenskan.


Halmstads took the game to the visitors right from the blast of the whistle resulting in their opener with just 11 minutes played. Joel Allansson set up Filip Schyberg who made no mistake in scoring his first goal of the day.


Halmstads were however dealt a huge blow when Gabriel Wallenten was given the matching off orders on the 38th minute to reduce them to 10-men. The numerical disadvantage did not water down Halmstads’ firepower who went ahead to find their second goal of the game through Ghanaian forward, Naeem Mohammed with just one minute to end the first half.


Back for the second half, Yannick Agnero and Naeem Mohammed combined forces to find Halmstads third on the day. Agnero’s perfect pass positioned Mohammed in a scoring spot which he perfectly executed on the 48th minute. Ivorian forward, Yannick Agnero nailed the visitors coffin with a fourth goal of the day to peg the game 4-0 on the 60th minute.


Vaernamo however quickly regrouped on the hour mark, getting two goals from Samuel -Kalu and Ajdin Zeljkovic on the 65th and the 78th minutes respectively.


The game ended 4-2 at full time to put Halmstads in 13th with 7 points from 7 games with Vaernamo seated 16th on no points.
