Top South African football agent Mike Makaab has made a U-turn to confirm reports linking former Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Sipho Mbule with a move to Kaizer Chiefs.

The agent had earlier insisted that he was unaware of his client’s potential move to the Soweto-based side following the expiration of his contract with Sundowns.

"I don’t know where the talks that Sipho Mbule is going to Kaizer Chiefs are coming from. All I can tell you is that the rumours are not true," Makaab informed FARPost.

However, the agent has now made a U-turn to confirm the midfielder’s potential move to the Glamour Boys.

“Let me set the record straight. Sipho Mbule has been offered to Kaizer Chiefs. It is up to the club to make the decision, and we need to respect that decision,” Makaab posted on his x.com on Sunday.

Mbule spent last season at Sekhukhune United and hopes of a recall to Miguel Cardoso’s side suffered a setback after the contract was not renewed.

The holding midfielder had an impressive start to his loan spell at Sekhukhune last season, featuring in 17 games and scoring twice. However, eventually reports of indiscipline surfaced with his game time dwindling.

The 27-year-old signed for Sundowns in 2022 when he joined from cross-town rivals SuperSport United.
