Malawi’s Creck Sporting Club coach, Joseph Kamwendo, says his team gave itself a big advantage over fellow top-flight opponents FCB Nyasa Big Bullets in the Airtel Top 8 quarterfinals.

The former Malawian international spoke about the advantage as Creck Sporting Club welcome Bullets in the Airtel Top 8 quarter final second leg match on Saturday, 26th April 2025, at Nankhaka Ground in Lilongwe.

“We gave ourselves a big advantage in Blantyre, we will use home ground advantage. We just have to go flat out even though we know they are the defending champions,” Kamwendo told Pan-Africa Football.

Creck Sporting Club forced a 0-0 draw in the first leg against Bullets at their Kamuzu Stadium backyard two weeks ago. Bullets won the Airtel Top 8 title last season after edging Silver, then coached by Peter Mponda, who is now in charge of the defending champions after replacing Zimbabwean Kalisto Pasuwa.

The other quarterfinal ties sees Mighty Wanderers leading 1-0 going into the quarter final second leg match against Karonga United on Sunday, April 27, 2025.

The other quarterfinal tie remains evenly balanced between Civo Sporting Club and Mzuzu City Hammers FC who drew 0-0 in the quarterfinal first leg while Silver carry a slender 1-0 lead going into the reverse meeting with Moyale Barracks.
