Silver Strikers FC defeated Moyale Barracks FC 3-1 at Rumphi Stadium in the Northern Region on Sunday, May 18, 2025, to qualify for the 2025 Airtel Top 8 semi-finals.

Strikers Stanie Davie’s goal and Festus Duwe’s brace sealed the deal for Peter Mgangira’s side in the quarter-final second leg. The bankers sailed through to the semi-finals 4-1 on aggregate.

Davie put last year’s finalists ahead by converting a pass from Maonga in the 16th minute, and Silver Strikers led 1-0 at half-time against the Malawi Defence Force-sponsored Moyale.

The visitors stepped up a gear in the second half as Duwe added the second goal in the 59th minute with a delightful chip past the goalkeeper following Chimwemwe Idana’s through ball.

Eight minutes later, Duwe cushioned Silver’s lead, unleashing a long-range thunderbolt into the net with Davie providing the assist.

The hosts scored a consolation in the 81st minute through Black Allisen’s powerful header from a corner kick. The Lilongwe-based giants will now face rivals Civil Sporting Club in the semi-finals, while defending champions FCB Nyasa Big Bullets take on Karonga United in the last four.

Silver’s next assignment is a TNM Super League game against Mighty Wanderers at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre on Sunday, 25 May 2025.
