Tanzania Mainland Premier League side Azam FC have confirmed the return of goalkeeper Aishi Manula, who has signed a three-year contract, after parting ways with Simba SC.

The Ice Cream Makers announced the return of Manula in a short statement on their social media pages by saying: “Welcome back home, @28_manula!”

Manula has returned to the Chamazi-based club after serving the Msimbazi Reds for eight years. Manula, who moved to Simba in 2017, was previously named the Best Goalkeeper of the Mainland Premier League five times, in 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2021.

He was also named the Best Goalkeeper in the FA Cup tournament in 2021. In total, he joins Azam after winning a total of five Tanzania Premier League titles in 2014, 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2021, and lifted the Federation Cup three times consecutively in 2019, 2020, and 2021.

Manula becomes the second signing for Azam this transfer window after the club unveiled attacking midfielder Muhsin Malima from Zed FC of Egypt. Malima signed one year contract with an option to add another year.
