Gor Mahia midfielder, Enoch Morrison has expressed belief that, the appointment of coach Charles Akonnor will be key to the success of the club.
The Kenyan giants announced the appointment of Akonnor alongside Bismark Kobby Mensah as the assistant coach, with Ben Owu as the goalkeepers’ trainer.
In an interview with Ghanasportspage, Morrison, who joined the club last season, spoke about the technical team set up.
“The team informed us about the appointment yesterday. It’s not only CK but the assistant and the goalkeeper’s trainer are all Ghanaians, which makes me very happy,” the former Asante Kotoko midfielder said.
“I’m 100 per cent sure that CK will lead us to success. Some players asked me about how CK is, and I told them he is very strict. He is someone I believe can manage egos, and I believe he will do well,” he added.
“I’m excited because I was the only Ghanaian, and it was difficult to blend in.”
Akonnor previously coached Ghana’s most glamorous clubs Hearts of Oak, Asante Kotoko and the defunct AshGold.
He has handled Dreams FC and Sekondi Eleven Wise in the past as well as the senior male team of Ghana, Black Stars.
