Nigerian striker Akor Adams happy to score first La Liga goal for Sevilla

Nigerian striker Akor Adams has expressed his delight after scoring the winning goal for Sevilla in their 1-0 victory over Rayo Vallecano at Estadio de Vallecas on Sunday.

Adam came into the game in the 69th minute after replacing Isaac Romero and he turned out to be the savior. He scored the decisive goal in the 87th minute to hand Sevilla their third win of the season.

Adams has so far featured for Nigeria U-20 team

“Before talking about myself, I think it was a great game for the team, with a strong fight and a good mentality,” the 25-year-old told reporters after the match as quoted by SABC Sports.

“I had the opportunity to come on, I was prepared and working hard, and I’m very grateful for the opportunity.

“We didn’t give up. We have a top mentality in the group. The coach (Matias Almeyda) has confidence in what we can do, and it shows in the games.”

Adams has so far featured for the Nigeria U-20 team at the 2019 FIFA U-20 World Cup.
