Nigerian Super Eagles forward Akor Adams continued his impressive goal-scoring form, finding the net as Sevilla secured a 2-1 victory over Athletic Bilbao in their Spanish La Liga Matchday 21 fixture.
Adams, making his 15th appearance for Sevilla on Saturday, converted a second-half penalty to ensure the hosts left the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán Stadium with all three points.
Athletic Bilbao had opened the scoring in the 40th minute via a tap-in from Robert Navarro, but Gerard Fernandez restored parity just two minutes later with a low-driven shot that beat the visitors’ goalkeeper.
In the 56th minute, Adams extended Sevilla’s lead when he calmly slotted home from the penalty spot to the delight of the home supporters. This victory is a significant boost for Sevilla, who have been fighting to climb away from the relegation zone.
