Akor Adams is very physical, can score goals – Azpilicueta

Sevilla defender César Azpilicueta has praised Nigeria striker Akor Adams saying he has all the qualities required to play for the Spanish side.

Adams netted his first La Liga goal on September 28, 2025, handing Sevilla a 1-0 away win over Rayo Vallecano in Madrid on Matchday 7 of the Spanish championship.

He repeated the feat the following week in their next match against Barcelona, scoring his team’s fourth goal in a 4-1 win against the Catalans.

Speaking about the performance of the Super Eagle after the 2-2 draw against Real Betis at the weekend, the former Chelsea defender explained why Akor Adams has the qualities to shine for Sevilla.

‘He did a very good job’

“Very important. He is very physical, can score goals, and make movements,” Azpilicueta said in a chat with Sporty TV.

“It is a pity that he didn’t score because he deserves that after his games, running from the first minutes to the end, it’s not easy. He did a very good job. Him, Alexis, and Isaac, the three strikers that played today, they worked so hard for the team.

“They score two of them and nearly the third. So, it is a pity for Akor but I hope he feels proud of his effort and I’m sure the goals will come sooner than later.”
