Nigeria national team forward Akor Adams returned to club Sevilla in spectacular fashion on Monday, coming on at halftime to score both goals as the visitors earned a point with a 2-2 La Liga draw at Elche.
The Super Eagle, who enjoyed an excellent tournament at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations as Nigeria finished third, successfully brought his national team form back to Spain. Adams’ penalty kick in stoppage time saved a point for the struggling Andalusian club.
Elche went ahead inside fifteen minutes through Aleix Febas before doubling their advantage early in the second half from Germán Valera’s goal.
Adams came on at halftime alongside Tanguy Nianzou and after another setback with Valera’s 55th minute goal, the Nigerian put his team back into the match twenty minutes later. A dangerous cross was directed off the post before the forward tapped in from close range.

The late penalty kick completed an inspired comeback, giving the Super Eagles striker five goals in La Liga action this season from fifteen matches. After a difficult start to life at Sevilla with injuries limiting his availability, Adams continues to find his way in Spanish football since arriving from French club Montpellier last season.
Sevilla, who avoided extending their losing streak to four matches, will likely reinstate Adams to the starting XI when they host Athletic Bilbao on Saturday.
