The Nigeria international ended his recent goal drought by opening the scoring in the 13th minute. However, Alfonso Espino restored parity for the visitors in the 50th minute. Despite several attempts from both sides to find a winner, the match eventually ended in a stalemate.
The forward, quoted by sevillafc.es, admitted that while he is pleased Sevilla secured a point, he was disappointed not to convert more of the chances that came his way.
“I think every point is important at this stage of the season. We work hard to get them. We got a point. But there are many things to work on and improve to reach our goal of three points.
“Yes, we’re happy to have gotten a point, but not entirely, because I also take responsibility. There were many situations that could have put us ahead. We’ll just work on that and we’ll be better next time.”
Speaking on his goal, Adams noted that although scoring is his primary responsibility, his priority remains helping Sevilla win games, regardless of who finds the back of the net.
“For me, the most important thing is to win with Sevilla. I work hard every day to win matches. Yes, scoring goals is my job. But at this stage of the season, it doesn’t matter if Kike scores or if Lucien scores. In the end, we’re a team.
“We need to get points. But seven goals… I think I should have scored more. So I’m grateful to God, but I’m not satisfied right now.”
