Akor Adams confident Sevilla will upset Barcelona

Sevilla forward Akor Adams has expressed confidence that his side can pull off an upset against Barcelona in their Spanish La Liga Matchday 28 fixture at the Spotify Camp Nou this Sunday.

​Matías Almeyda’s side famously thrashed Barcelona 4-1 last October, with the 25-year-old forward among the goalscorers for Sevilla in that historic encounter.

​Adams talks tough

​The Nigerian international, while speaking with Marca, said they are aware of Barcelona’s formidable form but insisted the team is prepared for the challenge.

“We’re continuing to train and prepare. Yes, they’re the league leaders and have an incredible group of players. But we’re going there knowing what can happen in a match: you can win, lose, or draw.”

The Rojiblancos, however, are looking to break a long-standing jinx, as they have not won a league game at the Camp Nou in 23 years.

Adams has scored seven goals and provided three assists in 22 La Liga appearances this season.
