Al Ahly cruise to 4-2 triumph over Ismailia Electricity in six-goal thriller

Al Ahly continued the fine form with a thrilling 4–2 victory over Ismailia Electricity on Saturday evening, in Round 10 of the Nile Egyptian League, at the Arab Contractors Stadium.

The Red Devils made their attacking intentions clear from the start and took the lead in the 17th minute when Ahmed Nabil Kouka met a precise cross from Mohamed Hany and fired home from first touch to open the scoring.

Al Ahly doubled their advantage in the 36th minute. From a well-delivered corner by Ahmed Zizo, defender Yassin Marai, who was unmarked, headed past goalkeeper Mohamed Hagras, making it 2–0.

Just after the restart, Al Ahly extended their lead further. In the 49th minute, Zizo sent another cross and the ball was half-cleared by a defender, only for Mohamed Sherif to smash it in with a finish for 3–0.

However, Ismailia Electricity refused to give up. Mohamed Onajem pulled one back in the 57th minute, heading in a cross from Ali Suleiman, before substitute Essam El-Fayoumi struck a shot from the edge of the box in the 69th minute to make it 3–2 and briefly revive the visitors’ hopes.

But Ashraf Bencherki restored calm for Al Ahly just four minutes later, curling in a brilliant free-kick from outside the box in the 73rd minute to seal the 4–2 win.

With this result, Al Ahly move up to 18 points, level with Al Masry and Zamalek at the top of the table, though they trail on goal difference. A bigger margin — such as a 4–0 win — would have seen the Cairo giants reclaim the league’s top spot.

Meanwhile, Ismailia Electricity remains stuck on 8 points after ten rounds, sitting 18th in the Nile Egyptian League table.
