Al Ahly’s Director of Football, Walid Salah El-Din, has revealed the reason behind the absence of Tunisian midfielder Mohamed Ali Ben Romdhane from the squad to face Al Masry in the Nile Egyptian League.
The Red Devils are set to meet Al Masry on Sunday night at Borg El Arab Stadium, with kickoff scheduled for 6:00 p.m. GMT, as part of Matchweek 13 of the Nile Egyptian League.
Speaking to the club’s official website, Salah El-Din confirmed that Ben Romdhane is suffering from mild fatigue in his adductor muscle. He explained that head coach Jesper Thorup, in coordination with the medical staff, decided to rest the player to prevent the issue from worsening.
This is the second time Ben Romdhane has been sidelined through injury this season, after missing the Round 8 clash against National Bank earlier in the campaign.
Al Ahly currently sit second in the league table with 22 points after their recent draw with Petrojet, as they look to bounce back and keep following the table leaders Ceramica Cleopatra.
