Libyan giants Al Ahly Benghazi have announced the appointment of Egyptian football figure Tarek Yehia as the club’s new sporting director for the first team.
The club’s official page welcomed Yehia to his new role, wishing him success in his mission with the team during the upcoming period.
Yehia joins a strong Egyptian presence at the club, working alongside head coach Tarek Mostafa, who was appointed to lead the technical staff few days ago.
Yehia is widely regarded as one of the legends of Zamalek SC, where he spent his playing career as a key figure for the Cairo giants. After retirement, he went on to build an extensive coaching resume, working both as head coach and assistant coach at Zamalek on multiple occasions.
Beyond his ties to Zamalek, Yehia has also managed several other Egyptian Premier League clubs, including Al Masry, Ismaily, Tala’ea El Gaish, Petrojet, and Misr El-Maqassa.

Al Ahly Benghazi finished fifth in the playoff group in the last season, a result that underlined the need for greater consistency as the club looks ahead to the new campaign.
