Al Ahly confirm final decision on Wessam Abou Ali’s future with the club

Al Ahly SC have officially confirmed that Palestinian striker Wessam Abou Ali will not be leaving the club during the current summer transfer window, whether on loan or via a permanent deal.

The club’s sporting director, Mohamed Youssef, announced the decision in a clear statement published via the club’s official Facebook page.

The sporting director revealed that Abou Ali had attracted several offers in recent days, but following a three-way meeting between club president Mahmoud El Khatib, sporting director Mohamed Youssef, and head coach Jose Reveiro, the decision was made to retain the striker.

The 26-year-old striker joined Al Ahly in January 2024 and made an immediate impact. Despite arriving during the season, he finished as the Egyptian Premier League’s top scorer with 18 goals.

This season, Abou Ali has continued his outstanding form, recording 19 goals and 4 assists in 34 appearances across all competitions.

One of his standout performances came during the third round of the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 group stage, when he scored a brilliant hat-trick in a thrilling 4-4 draw against FC Porto.

The club’s firm stance on retaining Abou Ali highlights his importance in their attacking setup.
