The Egyptian Professional Clubs Association has issued disciplinary actions against Al Ahly, ordering the team to play their next two matches behind closed doors.

In addition to the stadium ban, Al Ahly has been fined EGP 200,000 (approximately $4,000) as part of the sanctions imposed by the Association.

The punishments come after the Association deemed that Al Ahly supporters did group insults during their recent Nile Egyptian League match against Haras El Hodoud. The sanction will be applied in the team’s upcoming fixtures against Al Masry and Ceramica Cleopatra in Matchweeks 5 and 6 of the title-deciding phase in Nile Egyptian League.

Meanwhile, Zamalek assistant coach Ayman Abdel Aziz has been suspended for one match and fined EGP 5,000 after receiving his third yellow card of the season.

In the league standings, Al Ahly currently sit second with 46 points, one point behind leaders Pyramids. Zamalek occupy third place with 40 points.
