Al Ahly club doctor Ahmed Gaballah has revealed details of Mahmoud Hassan “Trezeguet”’s injury sustained during the team’s goalless draw against Algeria’s JS Kabylie in the CAF Champions League.
Al Ahly were held to a 0–0 draw by JS Kabylie in the fifth round of the group stage of the CAF Champions League, in a tightly contested encounter.
Trezeguet went down injured in the 45th minute of the first half after feeling discomfort, prompting medical attention before the break.
Speaking via the club’s official website, Dr. Ahmed Gaballah confirmed that the winger felt pain in his hamstring during the match, which forced him to be withdrawn at the end of the first half. He added that the player will undergo further medical scans once the team returns to Cairo to accurately assess the extent of the injury and determine the recovery plan.
Despite the draw, Al Ahly remain top of Group B in the CAF Champions League standings with 9 points, securing qualification to the quarterfinals ahead of the final group-stage round.
