Al Ahly midfielder Emam Ashour issued high fine and excluded from team training

Al Ahly player Emam Ashour has been fined one million Egyptian pounds ($20,166 USD) and excluded from group training sessions following a heated incident with team captain Mohamed El-Shenawy.

The Egyptian newspaper Al-Watan revealed exclusive details about the clash, which occurred ahead of the team's recent match against Stade d'Abidjan in the CAF competition.

According to the newspaper, Ashour expressed his frustration after being excluded from the squad list for the match. The situation escalated in the locker room when El-Shenawy, in his role as team captain, attempted to intervene and calm things down.

The discussion quickly turned into a heated argument between the two players prompting Al Ahly’s sporting director, Mohamed Ramadan, to take immediate action by excluding Emam Ashour from the team’s training session on the following morning.

According to Al-Watan, Ashour's return to group training is contingent upon him offering an official apology to El-Shenawy, reflecting the management’s commitment to maintaining discipline within the team.
