Egyptian giants Al Ahly have officially confirmed the departure of their Swiss manager Marcel Koller from his role as head coach.
The announcement comes just one day after Al Ahly were eliminated from the CAF Champions League semi-finals at the hands of South African side Mamelodi Sundowns.
Koller was in his third season with the Red Devils and enjoyed remarkable success during his time in charge, winning eleven trophies.
His achievements with Al Ahly include:
Two CAF Champions League titles
Two Egyptian Premier League titles
Two Egypt Cup titles
Four Egyptian Super Cup titles
One CAF Super Cup title
A bronze medal at the FIFA Club World Cup
Al Ahly revealed that they are currently negotiating with Koller to terminate the contract by mutual consent without activating the release clause, which would have required paying two months' salary. Koller’s monthly wage exceeds $200,000.
