This decision by Al Ahly SC’s sporting management is part of its efforts to strengthen the club’s attacking line both locally and internationally.
Mohamed is one of the most prominent Egyptian strikers of recent years. He excelled with Zamalek before embarking on a brilliant professional career in the Turkish league with Galatasaray.
He then joined French club Nantes, where he had a good start before experiencing a slight decline in form due to the team’s technical difficulties. At the end of last season, Nantes expressed its willingness to let Mohamed go after receiving several offers from Europe and the Arab world which encouraged Al Ahly SC to enter into negotiations with great vigor.
According to sources within the Cairo club to Pan-Africa Football, the contracts department of Al Ahly SC has already begun communicating with Nantes officials to reach a preliminary agreement on the transfer fee, given the player’s desire to return to the Egyptian Premier League via the biggest and most successful club on the continent.
