Qatari club Al-Duhail SC has officially announced the return of their Qatari-Egyptian defender, Youssef Ayman, after his loan spell at Al Ahly SC was terminated earlier than planned.

Ayman joined Ahly ahead of the 2024-25 season on a loan deal initially set to run until the end of the campaign. However, the agreement was cut short allowing the 25-year-old center-back to return to his parent club.

His limited playing time under Al Ahly’s head coach, Marcel Koller, makes the decision reasonable. The Swiss manager did not consider Ayman a primary option in the starting lineup, preferring other defensive choices in the squad.

Youssef Ayman has represented the Qatar national team seven times since June 2023 but hasn't played many games for the national team in the past year. He has only featured in one of Qatar’s last ten matches and scored a goal in that game against India in 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying.
