Al Ahly president and club legend Mahmoud El Khatib has officially reversed his earlier decision not to run in the upcoming club elections, confirming his candidacy and announcing his electoral list. The elections are scheduled to take place on October 30–31.
In a formal statement, El Khatib explained that his health had been significantly affected since 2023, and with recent medical advice urging him to reduce stress, he initially leaned towards stepping away. However, after extensive consultations, he decided to continue his leadership role, emphasizing his commitment to maintaining Al Ahly’s status as a leading institution for its members and supporters.
El Khatib’s electoral list revealed several changes from the current board, most notably the inclusion of Yassin Mansour as vice president and former football director Sayed Abdelhafiz running for a senior board member position.
The full list is as follows:
President: Mahmoud El Khatib
Vice President: Yassin Mansour
