Al Ahly announced on Thursday the signing of Moroccan left-back Youssef Belammari from Raja Casablanca during the winter transfer window.
The player signed a contract that will keep him at Al Ahly for three and a half seasons, and he has already been registered in the club’s domestic and CAF competition squads.
Belammari was part of Morocco’s squad at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, where the Atlas Lions finished as runners-up after losing the final to Senegal. However, the left-back did not feature in any matches during the tournament.
At club level, the 27-year-old made 7 appearances for Raja Casablanca this season in the Moroccan league before completing his move to the Cairo giants.
Despite completing his registration, Belammari will not be included in Al Ahly’s squad for Friday’s CAF Champions League group-stage match against Young Africans of Tanzania, which will be played at Borg El Arab Stadium in the third round of the group stage.
