Al Ahly secured a 3–1 victory over Wadi Degla on Tuesday evening in the Nile Egyptian League, in a match played at Cairo International Stadium as part of Round 16 of the competition.

Mahmoud Hassan Trezeguet opened the scoring for Al Ahly in the 25th minute with a superb effort from inside the penalty area. The winger showed great skill with an excellent dribble before finishing, after a defender failed to clear a cross from Zizo in the penalty area.

Just before halftime, Zizo doubled Al Ahly’s advantage in the first minute of added time (45+1), converting a penalty that Emam Ashour got, to give the Red Devils a comfortable lead heading into the break.

In the second half, Marwan Osman added the third goal for Al Ahly in the 67th minute, heading the ball into the net after an excellent effort and cross from Emam Ashour.

Wadi Degla managed to pull one back deep into stoppage time, as Ziad Osama scored in the 90+4 minute, but it proved to be no more than a consolation.

With this result, Al Ahly moved up to 26 points and sit third in the Nile Egyptian League standings, having played 13 matches so far. Meanwhile, Wadi Degla remain on 23 points in fourth place, collected from 15 matches.
