Tala’ea El Gaish pulled off a shock 2–1 win over Al Ahly in their match on Monday evening in the Nile Egyptian League.
The game, played at Military Academy Stadium, was part of the postponed fixtures from Round 15 of the competition.
Tala’ea El Gaish opened the scoring early in the 3rd minute when Mohamed Atef capitalized on a shot by Ali Hamdi, redirecting the ball into the net.
The defending champions equalized in the 22nd minute through Hady Riyad, who finished a brilliant assist from Achraf Bencharki with a first-time shot past the goalkeeper.
However, Tala’ea El Gaish restored their lead in the 61st minute when Khaled Abu Zeida headed home after a shot from Ismail Oujouro deflected off Hady Riyad inside the box.
