Al Hilal SC appoint Mohamed Mkacher as new head coach ahead of CAF Champions League campaign

Libyan giants Al Hilal SC have officially announced the appointment of Mohamed Mkacher as the new head coach of the first team for the upcoming season, replacing Serbian manager Zoran. The club confirmed the news through its official Facebook page.

Mkacher, who brings extensive experience from his time coaching several clubs in the Libyan Premier League, is seen as a strong candidate to lead the team to positive results in the new campaign.

As part of their preparations for an ambitious CAF Champions League journey, Al Hilal have made a series of signings across different positions. Key arrivals include Senegalese defender Abdou Seydi, Libyan international star Anas Al-Misrati in a high-profile move, Mohamed Gomaa, the return of Osama Belaid, Nigerian forward John Okoli, goalkeeper Nasr Mohamed, as well as Hassan Abbas and Moataz Al-Mahdi. In addition, striker Hamza El Fitouri has rejoined the squad.

Last season, Al Hilal finished second in the Libyan Premier League, narrowly missing out on the title after a decisive defeat against champions Al Ahli Tripoli in the final match of the campaign. However, their runner-up position secured them a place in next season’s CAF Champions League. The Benghazi-based club will kick off their continental mission in the preliminary round against Guinea’s Horoya Athletic Club.
