CAF Champions League quarterfinalists Al Hilal Omdurman recovered from a brief dip in form to dominate midtable side Gicumbi FC 5-0 on Tuesday in the Rwanda Premier League.
The Sudanese champions remain top of the table as a guest club, with three points separating them from reigning champions APR FC following the result. They also have a game in hand on the 23-time Rwandan club champions.
Captain and top attacker Mohamed Abdel Rahman was among the five different scorers for Hilal, who also received goal contributions from Adama Coulibaly, Abdel Raouf, Mamudu Kamaradin and Ousmane Diouf.
Raouf opened the scoring in the 23rd minute with an excellent curled effort after receiving the ball in the penalty area. The Gicumbi resistance unraveled from that point on. Before a half hour had elapsed, Abdel Rahman doubled the lead from a rebound following a deadly attack.
Mamudu made it 3-0 before halftime and the match was over at that point before Diouf and Coulibaly struck in quick succession after the 70th minute.
