Al Hilal open talks to renew Kalidou Koulibaly’s contract

Saudi reports on Monday revealed that Al Hilal have begun steps to renew the contract of Senegalese defender Kalidou Koulibaly.

Koulibaly’s current deal expires in the summer of 2026, which means he will be eligible to negotiate with other clubs once the winter transfer window opens.

The Senegal international joined Al Hilal in the summer of 2023 from Chelsea, signing a three-year contract with the Asian giants.

According to the Saudi newspaper Asharq Al-Awsat, negotiations are ongoing between both parties to reach an agreement on the financial terms and the length of the new deal. The club’s move comes following a recommendation from Italian coach Simone Inzaghi, who gave the green light to push forward with the extension.

The report adds that Al Hilal’s management want to finalize the renewal before Koulibaly enters the final six months of his contract in January.

Kalidou Koulibaly, 34, has appeared in 13 matches across all competitions this season, contributing one goal and two assists.
