UAE Pro League side Al Jazira have announced the dismissal of Moroccan head coach Hussein Ammouta and his backroom staff, following the team’s 3-2 loss to Khorfakkan in the opening round of the league.
In an official statement, the club said:
“Al Jazira Football Company announces the termination of the contract with first-team coach Hussein Ammouta and his assistants. We extend our sincere thanks and appreciation for their efforts during the past period. The new technical staff will be announced in due course.”
Ammouta, who was appointed in last year’s summer, oversaw 36 matches across domestic and continental competitions. Under his leadership, The Pride Of Abu Dhabi recorded 16 wins, seven draws, and 13 defeats.
The highlight of his tenure came last season when he guided the club to the Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank Cup title in the 2024-25 campaign.
