Al Masry SC has officially announced the appointment of Tunisian Nabil Kouki as the club’s new head coach, starting from the 2025/26 football season.
Kouki is expected to arrive in Port Said on Tuesday evening, with the club set to unveil the full technical staff and contract details following his arrival. Preparations for the new season are scheduled to begin later this week.
The 55-year-old brings a wealth of experience across North African and Middle Eastern football. In his native Tunisia, Kouki previously managed top-tier clubs such as CS Sfaxien, Club Africain, Stade Tunisien, CA Bizertin, and EGS Gafsa.
He also made his mark in Algeria, where he coached ES Sétif, CA Bordj Bou Arréridj, and most notably CR Belouizdad, leading them to the Algerian Ligue 1 title in the 2022/23 season.
His international résumé includes stints with Al Hilal Omdurman in Sudan, Al Ittihad Tripoli in Libya, Al Muharraq SC in Bahrain, and Jordanian sides Al Ramtha and Al Faisaly. Kouki’s most recent managerial stint was with ES Sétif in Algeria, where he led the team during the 2024/25 season.
Notably, Al Masry appointed Anis Boujelbene as another Tunisian coach during last season but he failed to complete the season and was sacked later.
Al Masry will participate in the next season's CAF Confederate Cup alongside Zamalek as Egyptian representatives in the continental competition.
