Al Masry head coach Ali Maher expressed his delight after his team's victory over Enyimba in their opening CAF Confederation Cup group-stage match. The match, held at Suez Stadium, ended with Al Masry claiming all three points with a 2 - 0 victory in a promising start to their campaign.
Speaking at the post match press conference the coach said: "The victory in the first group-stage match gives us a huge boost going forward. We achieved the main objective of the match, which was securing the win and the three points."
He praised Al Masry’s loyal fans, saying, "We are very happy with the support of our fans. They created a stunning atmosphere and painted a beautiful picture throughout the match."
Maher also highlighted the importance of rotation in the squad’s strategy, explaining that "our rotation policy is highly calculated. Our main task is to prepare all players to compete in both domestic and African competitions."
He expressed gratitude for the support from key figures:
"Mr. Kamel Abou Ali (club president) spares no effort in bringing happiness to Al Masry’s fans. We are also pleased with the presence of the governors of Port Said and Suez, who came to support us."
Commenting on the team’s performance, Maher said:
"We showed great positivity in front of goal and I’m pleased with the defense’s performance. The quality of the pitch here in Suez helps us deliver our best."
