Senegal winger Alassane Ndao has found himself in hot waters in Turkey following accusations of “sports betting” related offenses.
The situation has taken an even more serious turn for Ndao who has already been suspended for twelve months by the Turkish Football Federation (TFF) in November 2025.

The former Konyaspor winger is now at the center of a major criminal case, a situation that could plunge him into more trouble.
On February 27, 2026, the Istanbul prosecutor’s office officially filed an indictment against 34 people as part of the investigations into “betting and match-fixing” in Turkish football.
Among them is the 29-year-old , who has been in pretrial detention since last December. According to the indictment, the defendants face sentences ranging from 4 to 13 years in prison.
Authorities accuse several players of participating in illegal betting, some of whom are suspected of having placed bets on matches involving their own team, a particularly serious offense under Turkish sports and criminal law.
Imprisoned in Maltepe prison, the Senegalese player has seen his case escalate from a simple disciplinary matter to a major legal affair.
His club, Konyaspor, had already terminated his contract following his suspension by the TFF. Pending the start of the trial and the judges’ decision, the Senegalese international’s sporting future remains highly uncertain. He now faces several years in prison if the facts are confirmed by the Turkish courts.
Ndao played 11 matches with two goals and three assists prior to his suspension. He previously played for Istanbulspor, Al Ahli of Saudi Arabia, Antalyaspor and Fatih Karagumruk.
