Albert Amoah: Kotoko striker targets Ghana call up for 2026 World Cup

Asante Kotoko centre-forward, Albert Amoah has made his intentions clear of being part of Ghana’s senior team for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The 24-year-old returned to the Porcupine Warriors on loan after a botched transfer to Libyan side, Al Ahly Benghazi where he failed to kick a ball in a league game.

He has so far managed five appearances, scoring three goals as the record Ghana Premier League holders chase another league title.

With the FIFA World Cup fast approaching, Albert Amoah says he will be happy to be part of coach Otto Addo’s squad for the tournament to be co-hosted by Canada, USA and Mexico.

“Every player will be happy to be part of the Black Stars [and] I am Ghanaian so I think if I will be part of the Black Stars team, I will be happy,” Albert Amoah said.

“I am also a player [and] so far as I am a player and I am playing, I think everyone deserves a chance so I think if it comes that I should go and play, I will be ready to take that task.”

The former Great Olympics striker will be in line to start for Kotoko against Hearts of Oak in Ghana’s biggest derby at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday, February 15.

Asante Kotoko currently sit in 5th with 35 points same as Samartex after 21 matches into the campaign.
