Three contenders in Algeria's Ligue 1 Professionnelle were in action on Tuesday and two of the nation's traditional powerhouses had no problem achieving victories.
Defending champions CR Belouizdad were among the winners with a 3-0 result against visiting JS Saoura courtesy of a superb second half. Goals from Abderrahmane Meziane, Aymen Mahious and Khanyisa Mayo completed a spectacular start to the second half in which all three goals were scored in an eight minute spell.
CRB now have three consecutive victories in league play and are five points back of new league leaders JS Kabylie who thrashed MC El Bayadh 3-0. Ryad Boudebouz was among the goal scorers for JSK who are two points clear of CS Constantine with one more match played.
The only home team who did not win on Tuesday was ES Sétif who squandered an opportunity to move top with a 2-1 defeat to Paradou AC. One of the rising stars developed by Paradou, 21-year-old forward Adil Boulbina, scored the match winner in the 70th minute to increase his lead at the top of the scoring charts with eight goals.
